Related to the champion Granite, it comes as no surprise that Chuli is a beautiful sled dog. She and her siblings make up a large part of older team who help to train the youngest members of the kennel and they are some of the hardest workers in the kennel. Her firecracker personality makes her an always entertaining member of the team. But she is also focused and has a beautiful gait when on the trail, making training look and feel graceful and effortless.

Dale is the smallest of her litter and the firecracker of the kennel. Although she is little, she never struggle to keep up with her team members and has turned into a fantastic, high-energy sled dog. She loved transitioning into race training during the last couple seasons, and we’re excited to see her a mentor for our younger dogs on the main race team this coming season.

As one of the younger members of Trail Breaker Kennel, Farmer possess a lot of talent. This guy not only has a ton of personality, but he’s also quickly turned into an eager and attentive leader on the trail. He has done really well in his first few seasons of training and racing and we are so excited to see what the coming season holds for him!

Growing up with three brothers, Indy is tough and unafraid to roll with the big boys. Indy has more energy than she knows what to do with, which is also showing when she’s in a harness this young lady is definitely an exciting handful for the mushers.. Jibe (or Jibe-alicious) is a silent but deadly member of our team. Never a problem child, Jibe eat his food, gets his work done, and always makes time to play with his teammates afterward. His unique stub tail (he was born with it) earns him a special spot in our hearts, but his determination to go earns him a special place on our team.

Like his brother Farmer, Old Steese has all kinds of potential. As a puppy, he was incredibly chubby and adorable! Since then, he has grown into his body and is now a strong, fit guy who is ready to take on the trail. Steese has A TON of energy, and will force his friends to play, but once in a harness and moving with his team he is all business.

As an only child, Slim is a momma’s boy. As a result, he got all of his mother’s work ethic and leadership qualities. He’s stern, focused, and unstoppable. Talk about a go-getter! As the father of our “Fairbanks Roads” litter (now on the race team too), he sets a fine example of what being an overachiever can do and who will be an excellent husky to show the younger team members how to be star leaders.

Trout has proven herself to be a great sled dog. While she might not have the prettiest gait, Trout finished her first few races with loads of energy to spare and continues to be one of our main leaders. Come feeding time, Trout gets the most adorable case of the wiggles and seems to lose complete control of her hind end. She is a floppy, excited mess and eats her food with a ferocity unmatched by anyone (even the mushers) at the kennel!

Allen has bottomless energy, he somehow has more enthusiasm for running around and rough housing than the one year old dogs. He never tires, he is always go.

Ace aims to please, this guy is a ham and loves entertaining guests with his bouncy antics and signature smile. If dogs could be theater kids Ace would be the leader of the pack. Sisters can be such brutes!

Lizzie is a strikingly good looking girl with a cool head. She is calm and focused in the team. Mr. Darcy can be aloof and has his own way of doing things. He embraces pulling with enthusiasm and while he hasn’t had much practice leading teams, we have high hopes for him to earn a position in the front during the 25/26 winter season.

Mr Bingley might be half horse, he is the tallest, leggiest dog in the yard and moves with a unique pizazz all his own. Mr. Collins is a true goof ball- he has been making frequent appearances at the Chena Village during the 2025 summer and entertaining guests with his exuberance- this boy is not shy! He has an unparalleled love of dinner that earned him the nickname Col. Sanders as a puppy. He has out grown his roly-poly puppy physique but not his love of kibble. The whole yard (neighborhood?) knows when he is impatiently waiting his turn in the dinner line.

Tall and handome, this boy loves people and loves to run. He is solidly in his teenage “I am HUGE and I don’t know it yet” year. He’s grown like a string bean. Even though he might not realize his size, he has shown himself to be a good leader. He debuted himself as a lead dog while on our 2025 Arctic trip and has been showing off his leading prowess during river boat show this summer.

With her pointy ears and skunk-like face, Scooch was immediately a favorite puppy of her litter. She is very independent and will always run off to find new puddles or to show her siblings the new toy she found. Even though she runs off into the woods on her off-leash puppy walks with her siblings, she always comes back for kibble from her humans. We cannot wait to see how she does in her first winter running in the team and are excited for all that she has to come!

Skipper is the sweetest and the most sentimental of his litter. On every walk he sticks right next to our side, and then when his littermates do exciting things, he sprints up to be with them. He has recently learned how to twirl, sit, and jump and loves showing his skills to all who will watch. He will be a great member of our puppy team this season, and he will get to learn the ropes (quite literally) of being a sled dog.

Aptly named for the white toes and feet on his black legs, Tip Toe was the first puppy to be named in his litter. Any time we go for a walk with this boy, he finds all the sticks he possibly can and lies down to chomp on them and break them into smaller pieces. His littermates do not find it as amusing, but he does not care. This boy can be so chill and doesn’t mind being bossed around by his sisters, but he definitely isn’t afraid to snap back at them when they are being too mean.

Scuttle is a very bossy and spicy girl; she loves to boss her siblings around, and she is not afraid to play rough! This little firecracker loves to play all the time. She has seemingly endless energy and is not afraid to outrun all of her littermates during her free run time. Scuttle plays hard, but she is also no stranger to chilling out inside her dog house at the end of a long, hard day of puppy playtime. We are so excited to have Scuttle as a part of our team this coming season!

Bolt is the most interesting dog you will ever meet. He may not be the brightest, but he will out-work any dog, any day. His work ethic comes from his namesake, Usain Bolt, and his loving personality comes from his mother, Chiska. We have yet to see Bolt without a smile on his face!

Plumb Bob (or Bob-O, depending on who you are talking to) is a very sweet sled dog. At two years old, he has quite a lot of energy but is still a very pleasant dog in harness. He is a strong lead dog that would make an excellent bikejoring or skijoring buddy for recreational runs and fun. Bob is much more sensitive than his three brothers, but he has a great ability to project his voice, especially when there is the potential of food! Bob gets along with most other dogs and loves to play with anyone who will put up with some of his shenanigans!

This guy is one of the hardest workers in the kennel. Looking very wolf-ish, Havak comes off a bit intimidating. But he’s a big softy at heart. Havak has an incredibly animated personality and face that says he has all kinds of jokes. On the line, however, he’s all about his work, always pushing forward, and excited to get things done on the trail.

Phelps tugs at the heartstrings of every passerby with his undoubtable charm and wit. He’s a big goofball who knows how to get to work when it’s time. As a Yukon Quest finisher in 2019 and Ididn’trod finisher in 2021, Phelps is prepped and ready to push his team in another great season.
