This guy has the greatest attitude you could ask for. Our mushers have dubbed him the kennel clown as he boosts morale with his goofy personality. Ansel has with age grown into an amazing, dependable leader and with him being patient and caring with his fellow pack members we fully trust him with passing this skill on to our younger members of the kennel.

Bolt is the most interesting dog you will ever meet. He may not be the brightest, but he will out-work any dog, any day. His work ethic comes from his namesake, Usain Bolt, and his loving personality comes from his mother, Chiska. We have yet to see Bolt without a smile on his face!

Related to the champion Granite, it comes as no surprise that Chuli is a beautiful sled dog. She and her siblings make up a large part of the race team as they are some of the hardest workers in the kennel. Her firecracker personality makes her an always entertaining member of the team. But she is also focused and has a beautiful gait when on the trail, making training look and feel graceful and effortless.
Birthday: November 13, 2020
Parents: Chiska & Slim
Dale is the smallest of her litter and the firecracker of the kennel. Although she is little, she never struggle to keep up with her team members and has turned into a fantastic, high-energy sled dog. She loved transitioning into race training during the last couple seasons, and we’re excited to be part of the main race team this coming season.

As one of the younger members of Trail Breaker Kennel, Farmer possess a lot of talent. This guy not only has a ton of personality, but he’s also quickly turned into an eager and attentive leader on the trail. He has done really well in his first few seasons of training and racing and we are so excited to see what the coming season holds for him!

Felix and her sister Simone are the co-stars of Trail Breaker Kennel. With a personality fit for stardom, Felix wows the crowd with her big smile and cuddly nature. Like her mother, Chiska, Felix has a need to have her face in your face, always. Since she has the best intentions, we lovingly oblige. Along with her vivacious personality, Felix is a dependable leader and has finished her past race seasons looking strong! Felix is also the proud mama of our future stars, the “tools” themed litter – Ace, Dollie, Jack, Allen, and Bob-O.

Frank is a lovable guy with copious amounts of energy and spunk. He is a fan favorite and (hands down) gives the best hugs in the kennel! As a member of the main race team, Frank can’t wait for an exciting 2024/2025 season!

This guy is one of the hardest workers in the kennel. Looking very wolf-ish, Havak comes off a bit intimidating. But he’s a big softy at heart. Havak has an incredibly animated personality and face that says he has all kinds of jokes. On the line, however, he’s all about his work, always pushing forward, and excited to get things done on the trail.

Growing up with three brothers, Indy is tough and unafraid to roll with the big boys. Indy has more energy than she knows what to do with, which is also showing when she’s in a harness this young lady is definitely an exciting handful for the mushers.. We are stoked to see how she continues to develop as a long distance sled dog in the coming seasons!

Jibe (or Jibe-alicious) is a silent but deadly member of our team. Never a problem child, Jibe eat his food, gets his work done, and always makes time to play with his teammates afterward. His unique stub tail (he was born with it) earns him a special spot in our hearts, but his determination to go earns him a special place on our team.

Mofarah is the winner of the “Most Beautiful Dog at Trail Breaker” for the fourth consecutive year, and he knows it! But that isn’t what makes him a great sled dog. With all the gumption in the world, we’re not sure there is anything that could stop him. Although his bark is loud and can ruffle some feathers, Mofarah is constantly boosting the team’s energy and is always ready to go!

Like his brother Farmer, Old Steese has all kinds of potential. As a puppy, he was incredibly chubby and adorable! Since then, he has grown into his body and is now a strong, fit guy who is ready to take on the trail. Steese has A TON of energy, and will force his friends to play, but once in a harness and moving with his team he is all business.

Simone and her sister Felix share the limelight at Trail Breaker Kennel. Simone counterbalances her sister’s vibrant personality, with a chill demeanor. But she still shines just as bright. An accomplished leader in her own right, she raced in the 2019 and 2023 Yukon Quest amongst other races and we are excited to have her join us for more races during the 2024/25 season!
Birthday: May 8, 2017

As an only child, Slim is a momma’s boy. As a result, he got all of his mother’s work ethic and leadership qualities. He’s stern, focused, and unstoppable. Talk about a go-getter! As the father of one of our most recent litters (now on the race team too), he sets a fine example of what being an overachiever can do and who will be an excellent husky to show the younger team members how to be star leaders.
Birthday: April 9, 2019

At 5 years old, Trout has proven herself to be a great sled dog. While she might not have the prettiest gait, Trout finished her first few races with loads of energy to spare and continues to be one of our main leaders. Come feeding time, Trout gets the most adorable case of the wiggles and seems to lose complete control of her hind end. She is a floppy, excited mess and eats her food with a ferocity unmatched by anyone (even the mushers) at the kennel!

Caliper was born in the spring of 2023, and is one of the 6 puppies joining the TBK pack this season. Being one of two females in the puppy pack, “Callie” is already used to dealing with the rowdy boys and standing up for herself. Caliper is a curious, friendly lady and we can’t wait to see her develop and get out running in a harness later this season!

Allen wrench (Allen) is one of the most independent puppies we’ve got here at Trail Breaker Kennel. He loves interacting with other dogs, puppies and humans but he clearly isn’t afraid of solo adventures and is oftentimes found doing his own thing once he’s had enough of socializing. Tough little one, this boy! We can’t wait to see if his independence and brave manners translates into him leading the pack down the trail in the next few race seasons?!

Born in the spring of 2023, and son of our Felix and the very accomplished Slater from Wild and Free Mushing, Ace is the ham of his litter. He works hard to please his humans, but he’s not shy of having some fun either. Being the future of TBK, we are excited to see Ace and his litter mates grow up and develop as sled dogs in the coming years.

This stunning, big boy sticks out in a crowd and was one of the highlights of our guests’ experience here at Trail Breaker Kennel during the summer of 2023. Jack is outgoing, strong and fun and he loves to move! He had a great first training season, and we can’t wait to see him continue to mature and develop as a sled dog in the coming years.

Being the only female, and the smallest one of the litter, Dollie had big shoes to fill but she surely doesn’t skip a beat! She will hold up her own with the rest of the litter and shows amazing willingness to go and listens very well to her humans. With the looks and the attitude of this young lady, we are so excited to see what the future holds!

Plumb Bob, also called Bob-O, is the fastest one of the litter and will often be seen sprinting ahead of the pack to stretch his legs out. That being said, he happily listens when we call him back and will come right back to us for attention and treats.

Brother to Malcolm, Nelson is a sweet boy who wants nothing more than a good scratch on the head. Nelson has an endearing smile, gregarious personality, and is always down to show the team a good time. Nelson is a hard worker too, and a valued team member here at Trail Breaker Kennel. When he’s not busy in the harness, he charms our guests and human team members.

Rochambo is the sweetest dog you’ll meet. He is so over his rowdy, frat boy stage and is content to just lay in your lap and feel the love! Despite his reserved demeanor, Roch is an incredibly diligent worker and a great mentor for the younger pups.

At 12 years Shenzi is one of our most experienced dogs and she has quite a few kids (and even grandkids) in the kennel. She is a great lead dog, and serves as a great mentor for our puppies and young dogs in training. Shenzi might be a little shy at first with people, but she quickly warms up and accepts (and loves) some butt scratches and love.

Teak is an excitable guy who loves to pull. And he’s a cutie to boot! Teak has had some good race experience, and is now enjoying shorter miles and slower paces being a very charming and valuable member of our tour team.
Birthday: April 13, 2015

A bit of a ladies’ man, Malcolm makes sure he’s always looking fresh and working hard. He’s a lovable guy who will always make you laugh but also can’t get tired of being out on the trail. While he loves to run, he also loves the ladies, and it can be an effort to keep him focused. When the time comes, however, Malcolm always shows up and shows out for his team.

Lydia is the smallest and most precocious of the puppies. Lydia is a charmer but gets a little shy in front of a crowd. She was a late bloomer a few weeks ago but has caught up to her siblings and is right in the middle of the pack when it’s time to go out for a pup walk.

Like her namesake, Elizabeth Bennet, Lizzy has dark features and contemplative expressions. One of the first puppies to come racing to the gate when it is time to go out for walks. She is curious and engaged in her surroundings. We are enjoying watching these little ones’ personalities start to shine.

Mrs Bennet is the largest female in the litter. Bennie is also the most timid, but with a little bit of praise and some patience she will come galloping up to you. She looks like a mini me of her mother, it’s so fun to watch their colors emerge as they grow.

Mr Darcy is entering a very bitey period of his life and seems to take great pleasure in chewing on his brothers. To be fair they most definitely are chewing back. We should expect a raucous period before he calms down and turns into the gentleman he is destined to become.

Mr Bingley is cautious when he encounters something new but after, say climbing the step to come into the barn, he will be jumping off and climbing back up in no time. He also has a talent of encouraging his siblings into biting and pulling on sticks or knocking lawn chairs over. A ringleader for puppy chaos.

Mr Collins is the definition of an oaf. The big guy loves being the center of attention and hamming it up for everyone. On warm afternoons he can be found laying in the middle of the water bowl and has found the most effective way to eat dinner is to be spread eagle in the dish.

Fitz is generally good natured and gets along with everyone. He’s not the first puppy to attack your shoe laces when you get into the pen but he’s always down to go on a puppy adventure and is growing and gaining confidence everyday.

Turner is a big and friendly boy, weighing in around 65-70 lbs this guy can put some force into his cuddle sessions. He is a 9 year old neutered male with white and brown spots. When we walk around the yard with him you can count on Turner to be close behind with a goofy smile on his face or leaning against us grunting with appreciation after an ear scratch.
