Ansel has with age grown into an amazing, dependable leader and with him being patient and caring with his fellow pack members we fully trust him with passing this skill on to our younger members of the kennel.

Bolt is the most interesting dog you will ever meet. He may not be the brightest, but he will out-work any dog, any day. His work ethic comes from his namesake, Usain Bolt, and his loving personality comes from his mother, Chiska. We have yet to see Bolt without a smile on his face!

Related to the champion Granite, it comes as no surprise that Chuli is a beautiful sled dog. She and her siblings make up a large part of the race team as they are some of the hardest workers in the kennel. Her firecracker personality makes her an always entertaining member of the team. But she is also focused and has a beautiful gait when on the trail, making training look and feel graceful and effortless.

Dale is the smallest of her litter and the firecracker of the kennel. Although she is little, she never struggle to keep up with her team members and has turned into a fantastic, high-energy sled dog. She loved transitioning into race training during the 22/23 season, and we’re excited to see how she keeps developing as a racing long distance sled dog this coming season.

Felix and her sister Simone are the co-stars of Trail Breaker. With a personality fit for stardom, Felix wows the crowd with her big smile and cuddly nature. Like her mother, Chiska, Felix has a need to have her face in your face, always. Since she has the best intentions, we lovingly oblige. Along with her vivacious personality, Felix is a dependable leader and finished the 2019 and 2023 Yukon Quest looking strong! Mofarah is the winner of the “Most Beautiful Dog at Trail Breaker” for the fourth consecutive year, and he knows it! But that isn’t what makes him a great sled dog. Although his bark is loud and can ruffle some feathers, Mofarah is constantly boosting the team’s energy and is always ready to go!

At 4 years old, Trout has proven herself as a great sled dog. While she might not have the prettiest gait, Trout finished her first few races with loads of energy to spare. Come feeding time, Trout gets the most adorable case of the wiggles and seems to lose complete control of her hind end. She is a floppy, excited mess and eats her food with a ferocity unmatched by anyone (even the mushers) at the kennel!

Tuna, a four year old Granite descendant, is a playful and fun girl to be around. Tuna is still maturing and finding her stride as a race dog, she is a good eater and a great team dog and we hope to have many years with Tuna on the team.

Turner is the size of a small horse and works like one too. With a tendency to get too excited when on long runs, we keep him to shorter runs which he loves. While he might come off as a little rough around the edges, Turner is a big softy and is quick to cuddle up to anyone who will give him attention.

Cassidy has a quiet personality, but that doesn’t stop her being a great sled dog! Last year, her final year as a prominent member of the race team, Cassidy became a dependable leader and key component to us finishing our first Iditarod qualifying race. While she may not be part of the official team this year, she still has a crucial role in the team as she’s been charged with training up the pups and leading tours back at the kennel in Fairbanks.

Allen wrench (Allen) is one of the most independent puppies we’ve got here at Trail Breaker Kennel. Virgo has wisdom in his eyes and determination in his heart. He may not have the prettiest gait, but he works just as hard as the next dog. While he is usually calm and collected, Virgo tends to have the urge to inform the kennel when he needs to relieve himself by letting loose a long and wild howl before getting to his *personal* business. He puts on quite the show, which we find quite endearing, if not hilarious at times.
