Hop on a five-passenger rig and experience an exhilarating sled dog ride through our beautiful Alaskan trails. This tour is perfect for those wanting to see sled dogs in action and immerse themselves in the experiences of mushers in Alaska!

Arrive at Trail Breaker Kennel

Follow the directions in your confirmation email to arrive at Trail Breaker Kennel. Parking is available at our tour site for those who drive their own vehicle.

Tour Itinerary

  • Welcome to Trail Breaker Kennel! Meet your musher guide as they introduce you to the world of mushing, the 1,000-mile Iditarod and Yukon Quest races, and the Alaskan Husky breed
  • Watch as your musher harnesses and hooks up a team of sled dogs for a training run
  • Hop into our side-by-side and join your team for a fall training run on our beautiful Alaskan trail system
  • Upon your return, thank your team and watch as they cool off and play in the Chena River
  • Ask any final questions and take any last photos as your exciting visit to Trail Breaker Kennel wraps up.

 

End of Tour

Just because your visit is over doesn’t mean you can’t stay up to date with the mushers and huskies at Trail Breaker. Tour Details

Price: $150 per guest (4 years and older)

Availability:

Duration: 1 hour

Capacity: 5 people per tour

Age Restriction: Guests must be at least 4 years old to participate. An attentive adult must accompany anyone 17 years of age or younger throughout the entirety of this tour.

Cancellation Policy: We require a 100% down payment for bookings. Cancellations and modifications can be made up to 24 hours in advance will receive a 100% refund. You can do so by following the links in your confirmation email. If you need to cancel your tour within that 24-hour window, email us at tours@trailbreakerkennel.com to receive a 50% refund. No-shows will be charged the full amount.

Military Discount: We offer a 10% discount for active duty and reserve members, and their dependents. Use the code Military at checkout. A valid ID will be required at the start of your tour.

Mobility: We work to provide everyone with a great experience, no matter their level of mobility. This tour requires some walking over uneven terrain. There are benches and chairs along the way for those who need a rest. Our guides will also be there to help you along the way. We ask that you detail any mobility issues in your intake form when completing your booking. If you have any questions or concerns before your visit, email us at tours@trailbreakerkennel.com. We will be happy to chat with you to make sure you get the most out of your visit.

Transportation: We do not provide transportation. Guests must make their way to and from the kennel on their own. If you need transportation, we suggest using one of the taxi services in Fairbanks. On average, a taxi ride from downtown Fairbanks will cost $15-20 each way. For a list of the taxis in Fairbanks, click here.

Weather: Tours operate rain or shine. Be prepared for the unpredictable Alaskan weather by bringing layers and a raincoat. We have ponchos for use when needed.
